Zim plans hefty rate hike on Asia-South America trade

Zim will try to collect a general rate increase from its Asia-South America East Coast trade customers of US$500 for all types of TEU and $1,000 per FEU, including hi-cubes, from July 1.

Zim will try to collect a general rate increase from its Asia-South America East Coast trade customers of US$500 for all types of TEU and $1,000 per FEU, including hi-cubes, from July 1.

“The rate increase is necessary in view of market conditions and current unsustainable rate levels, and in order to continue to operate our services with same high levels of reliability and service to customers,” the carrier said in a statement.
